I studied abroad in China a 2 years ago. It's not nearly the same but one thing holds true. The tv/anime/manga do provide a clean picture - if you have a large, diverse body of watching/reading under your belt.

There will be idiosyncratic differences but I can honestly say the if you take Japanese anime, add crazy discredited Maoism and subtract industrialized wealth you'll get a pretty good picture of Chinese education. I can only imagine that Japanese education is much nearer to what you (and I) have already watched.

Teachers move around from classrooms to classrooms, basically students stay in classroom. we move to lab or music room sometimes.College is the same as here, students have to move around.

Each class organize some events when festival starts. some classes do dance, play, magic, music and so on.

We have field trips. We also have graduation trip. It depends on school,but if you live in south, they usually trip to east or north. I went to Hokkaido for my graduation trip when i was in high school.
